Ian Thompson
Dr. Ian Thomson specialises in strategic, commercial, market and transmission aspects of energy, oil and gas and has a detailed understanding of regulatory and institutional arrangements.
An engineer by training, with a first class degree and PhD from Cambridge, Ian Thomson worked for BP for 17 years, latterly in positions of increasing responsibility managing a number of large oil and gas transportation, storage and supply projects from concept through to operation.
Ian has advised a number of European, US and Asian gas and oil companies, gas and LNG buyers, utilities and banks on technical, commercial and contractual aspects of gas, LNG, LPG and oil projects, as well as a number of governments, and acted as an Expert Witness in court proceedings.
