Dr Gary Taylor MSc, PhD
Dr Gary Taylor is currently based at a UK University School of Engineering and Design, lecturer and course director in Sustainable Electrical Power. The engineering department was rated 5 in the last UK Research Assessment Exercise. He received his BSc degree in Electronic Physics from Royal Holloway College, University of London, in 1987, received MSc and PhD degrees in Applied Mathematics from the University of Greenwich in 1992 and 1997 respectively.
He is a full member of the IET and IEEE and a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy. He has contributed to over 60 international journal and conference publications concerning applied mathematics and computing in both power systems and general engineering. His current research interests include renewable energy, micro-generation, reactive power and voltage control, power system and network communications, power system and network operation, power system economics and electricity markets.
He is currently collaborating on a number of power and renewable energy research projects with companies such as EDF Energy, National Grid and Converteam Ltd.
