Course Presenter (s):

Dr Saeed Fararooy PhD, CEng, MIEE

Saeed is a Director and RCM practitioner. He is the author of over 30 technical publications and a speaker at international conferences and training seminars on systems engineering, requirements management processes and IT tools and System Reliability, Availability, Maintainability & Safety (RAMS). He has 20 years experience of research and consulting for a range of blue-chip companies in the manufacturing, process and transportation industry. He coined the term (RCM)2 representing the need to combine qualitative techniques such as Reliability-Centred Maintenance with quantitative Remote Condition Monitoring to maximise asset availability/productivity. He has lectured at Birmingham and Sheffield universities and trained hundreds of engineers and managers in system reliability techniques and computer-based tools. Dr Fararooy’s recent assignments include:

Project management of signaling system safety and availability study
Project management of Control & Telecoms workstream for a major rail upgrade programme; Requirements management using DOORS
Training courses in dependability (RAMS), safety & reliability analysis Rail Standards Traceability
System Safety Cases: GSN/WeFA Notations, safety requirements & hazards management for Railtrack and major signalling suppliers
FTA for an automotive application
DTI SMART award for Integrated Safety Case Development Environment (ISCaDE)
Project management of specialist IT and R&D projects in Safety, Reliability and RCM.
Previously, Dr Fararooy was Head of Systems Engineering with Brown & Root leading a range of multi-disciplinary projects and a Lecturer at the School of Electronic & Electrical Engineering, the University of Birmingham.
