  • The aim of a counseling interview
  • The critical dimensions of counseling
  • Understanding the need for workplace counseling – organization change, bullying, stress and personal situations
Day Two
  • Preparation & planning for a counseling session
  • Essential ingredients for successful counseling
  • Giving feedback
  • Dealing with difficulties in counseling
  • Being a powerful communicator
  • Understand your colleague – the different personality types and how to respond to them
Day Three
  • Tools for communication – Transactional Analysis, Johari Window, Myers Briggs
  • Effective Questioning Techniques
  • Transfer of learning into the workplace
  • The discipline and grievance procedure: whose responsibility is it to enforce policy? Reasons for consistency.
  • Understanding legislation; the role of ACAS; employee rights; industrial tribunals
