OBJECTIVES:

By the end of this course delegates will:
  • Have developed the necessary skills for the effective planning and control of warehouse operations
  • Be able to offer practical solutions for the problems likely to be encountered by a modern warehouse management team
  • Have an appreciation of the importance of the main control and cost parameters which are applicable for warehouse management and have the skills necessary to recognise possible avenues for improvement

SUMMARY:

Warehousing tends to be a large user of people and the management of this function calls for skills in planning and co-ordinating people's work, in understanding their motivation and in maintaining good industrial relations. This skills are needed in addition to the technical skills associated with the operation of warehouse systems. This course puts strong emphasis on the human factors involved in the management of people, as well as giving an appreciation of the more important aspects of warehouse operations.
